Saxophone & Clarinet Lessons

Colorado Springs, Colorado

If you are looking for a saxophone or clarinet teacher for yourself, or a student, you have come to the right place. Mr. Ed Hureau is the former leader of the United States Air Force Academy Band “Falconaires” jazz band. Before becoming the leader, he played Lead Alto, Jazz Tenor and Baritone Sax with the band. He also played Bb, Eb and Bass Clarinet with the USAFA Concert Band.

He was trained in music by his father, Wilfred Hureau, who performed with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Walt Disney studios, and studied clarinet with David Hite, theory and harmony with Dale Bruning, and arranging with Sammy Nestico. Ed is proficient in all styles of music, from classical to jazz improvisation. He can tailor a program of teaching to meet your specific desires: fundamentals for beginners, technique and musicality for intermediates, college prep or jazz improvisation for advancing students.

Mr. Hureau’s teaching style is firm but patient and encouraging, and his methods ensure immediate progress. He not only shows the student what to practice, but how to practice it.
